I don’t know about you, but I think there’s something special about a comedy that does two things:
- Makes you laugh out loud multiple times an episode
- Has so many quick jokes you have to watch each episode at least twice to catch everything
Letterkenny hits both requirements right out of the park. This Canadian sitcom – that shows the lives of those living in a rural Canadian town – features fast-paced quick-witted dialogue that’s reminiscent of Hawkeye and Hunnicutt from M*A*S*H. Conversations, specifically between the so-called “Hicks” (the other two main groups in town are the “Hockey Players” and the “Skids”), are filled with hilarious – if sometimes a bit colorful – idioms and localisms. I’ve picked up “that’s a Texas-sized 10-4 good buddy” and “as sure as God’s got sandals,” and those are just a couple that are safe for work.
That being said, it should be said that this show most definitely is not safe for work. Just keep that in mind when you decide to check it out! If you’re interested, here’s a quick teaser trailer:
