Goofy, funky, funny, and somehow still meaningful. Fishing For Fishies is a great listen, very digestible, just the perfect length, really.
Unbelievably, this is the band’s fourteenth release since 2012. Understandably, some did not appreciate the band’s attempt to do something more appealing to a wider audience (see Sophie Kemp of Pitchfork’s less than kind review here). I think it’s fair to say music fans can get on board with musicians not being weird for the sake of being weird. But, all that aside, let’s get down to the goods:
Tracks to Try: the funky “Plastic Boogie”, the bluesy “Boogieman Sam”, and the dancey “This Thing.”
