Personally, I don’t usually go in for live albums. There are a few I like, but it’s usually because I grew up with them. Feeding Frenzy, Jimmy Buffett’s 1990 live record, however, actually sounds great. The Coral Reefer band has never sounded so full. And, in keeping with this week’s theme, the whole album is just pure fun.
Jimmy captures the sound and the spirit of beach life with both the songs he plays and the energy the entire venue gives off. And it may not be popular to listen to him nowadays, but get just a few tracks in to this album, and you just might change your tune. Read on for some recommended tracks.
Tracks to Try: the intro and outro-spective “The City”, the pure fun “Cheeseburger in Pardise”, and the bittersweet “A Pirate Looks at Forty.”
