While there is no official press release that filming for the season has wrapped, fan site Redanian Intelligence has shared a few social media posts from those involved with the project strongly indicating that the onsite work for the premiere season is over (such as the director flying out of Turkey, where the show was being shot).

We’re fans of the franchise, as evidenced by our review of the first Witcher book, “The Last Wish.” Which is why we’re excited Netflix has announced that the show will be released within the last three months of 2019. We also know a bit about the casting, in that Henry Cavill will play the protagonist Geralt, Freya Allan will play Ciri and Anya Chalotra will take the role of Yennifer.

There’s still a little time to wait, but there’s plenty of Witcher content to fill the void. You can start with the first book, a collection of short stories introducing the world and characters of the this universe. You could also check out the video game series, the best being The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Check out the trailer for the game below, and stay tuned to The Howl for reviews, updates, and weekly recommendations on The Witcher and other great entertainment content!
